In 1911 the King of Spain Alfonso XIII after having his racing yacht Hispania built to William Fife III drawings commissioned another Fife design , the Ten metre racer Tonino . She was raced for two seasons, then taken to Italy for the racing seasons of 1914-15 . The war found her there and the yacht never came back to Spain. 80 years later she was discovered by an Italian yachtsman who restored her and took part to 1995 Nioulargue regatta. The yacht was again left without maintenance for years untill she was bought by an educated yachtowner with a great passion for yachting history with the plan of restoring her totally. But the plan are changed and the boat is actually for sale , still in condition of total restoration. The importance of such a unic Fife racer is very high. Tonino is stored in a shed of a shipyard in Fiumicino , Rome ,Italy.Full survey available.
