The Moonen 1500 Big Daddy sleeps 5 in two double staterooms and is in a very, very exceptional condition.
Big Daddy’s air-conditioned wheelhouse gives you comfort during your new ocean adventures,
her toughened glazing withstands the most extreme conditions and a central
fresh air dorade box ventilation system provides fresh air in all compartments when all
glazing and portholes have to be closed.
The twin screw Moonen/Viking cutter is equipped to the highest level to ensure comfortable cruising day after day. The double DF575 engine are known for their durability and you may expect a lifetime equal to commercial boats. The chance you outlive these engines a very small.
The electronic KE-585 Microcommanders allow you to maneuver the yacht with ease and this together with the very powerful bow and stern thrusters makes you dock this yacht like a pro.
Behind the professional helm seat is ample space for six, beautiful teak seats on both starboard and port side of the central aft entrance provide storage for all maintenance equipment as well as lovely cushioned seats. A centre plank can be inserted to change the double seats to one entire rounded seat. The covers for them are of course in perfect condition.
The mast (not displayed) can be completely lowered to decrease height to only 3.20 meters which makes Big Daddy suitable for the French Canals with more than 30 cm of headroom left! Under sail her normal cruising speed of 8 knots is increased by 1,5 knots or gives the possibility to go down with 200 rpm to save fuel. Consumption per engine is only 7 litres per hour at cruising speed, 6 lph with set mainsail.

There’s only one Moonen/Viking ever built with the super-salon, built in her aft and this is just a fantastic place to be! During the day when sailing the super-salon gives you the opportunity to be at the water level, seeing the waves roll and a water level horizon. At night the space gives you privacy. I truly am convinced it is a shame only one example has this perfect layout for the extra-long stay or live-aboard.
The super salon is equipped to a very high level of comfort, central in her aft is a large seating with
dining table. A king size galley with 4 zone cooker, fridge and Siemens microwave.
Plenty cupboards and other spaces house all needed equipment for a perfect live aboard.
A large smart TV and a Sony radio completes the entertainment.
In the bow you find the heated master stateroom with king-size bed and two electric adjustable mattresses to watch tv on her 32 inch smart tv.
The sides provide plenty of storage and lockers for all your clothing.
On starboard you find the ample sized heated guest stateroom with a large double bed and a very clever slide-away Pullman style upper bed. Super nice and well-designed for a couple and their child. The upper bed can also be used by an adult.
Lots of storage is also found here as well as bed lights and 230v outlets.
In the large corridor between the wheelhouse/salon and the two staterooms you find the entrance to it’s bathroom with wash basin, shower and comfortable large toilet.
Big Daddy’s second masterpiece is without doubt the engine room, engineered to perfection in
every form! The DF 575 engines with 5.76 litres are known for their reliability and will run a lifetime without any problems. The Yachts setup is made to be fully indepent of shore power for a very long period as the heavy inverter can power the boat without charging for at least an entire week!
Starting the diesels will give you an output current at idle of a ridiculous 215 amps per hour and therefore your batteries will be full in no-time.
Big daddy is ready to go, comes fully serviced and is well worth a viewing!
