Introducing the 2016 West Country Top Sail Schooner, the "Daniel Joseph," born from the craftsmanship of the seller David Abels. With a profound wealth of maritime expertise, David, the visionary founder and director of Abels Shipyard in Bristol, UK, between 1979 and 2016, oversaw the creation of more than 130 vessels during his illustrious career.
Emerging from the shipyard in Bristol in 2015, the "Daniel Joseph" unfurled its sails in the Mediterranean Sea after finalizing its rig and interior in the spring of 2016. This splendid vessel embarked on a captivating journey through diverse ports across several nations including Spain, Portugal, Corsica, Sardinia, Italy, and ultimately Greece. Daniel Joseph made its triumphant return to its birthplace, Bristol, UK, in late 2019.
Originally crafted as a private yacht, the "Daniel Joseph" offers limitless possibilities. With subtle interior adaptations, it can seamlessly transition to fulfill a wide spectrum of roles, including;
Charter Sailing and Sail Training:
The fore peak boasts dedicated deck access, making it ideal for potential transformation into crew quarters
Expeditions and Filmmaking:
The expansive saloon presents an opportunity for conversion into two additional cabins, supplementing the vessel's accommodations by 4 to 5 berths. Meanwhile, the fore peak retains its purpose as secure storage for film or scientific equipment
The seller, who as previously mentioned built and designed Daniel Joseph (along with 130 other vessels), is very happy to offer detailed design work and design proposals for such conversions. This would be for serious prospective buyers and would be included in the price.
Seamlessly blending functionality with the iconic allure of a top sail schooner, the "Daniel Joseph" is primed to sail through both the winds of tradition and the uncharted horizons of modern pursuits. She ready to set sail on her next adventure, currently lying Bristol, U.K ready for viewing.
