Launched in 2017, CYGNUS CYGNUS is hull no.2 of the OQS-built Ocean Explorer line of semi-custom luxury bluewater cruising catamarans. Her specification outlines a safe and fast performance cruiser capable of crossing the oceans in full comfort. She is built to category CE Ocean A and MGN280-2 with DNV-GL appointed as notified body.
Her accommodation layout incorporates 1 crew + 4 guest cabins, offering true premium sailing experience for all aboard. The materials and equipment installed are carefully chosen in order to match the high set of expectations. Her carbon fibre mast is supplied by Lorima who are globally recognised in the multihull market and the professional racing arenas, her sails are North Sails and the winches are supplied by Harken.
In order to meet requirements for occasional shorthanded sailing and effortless sail handling, both the jib and the storm jib are on electrical furlers. A retractable hydraulic Max Power bow thruster is installed for ensuring smooth maneuvering in narrow harbour areas. Retractable daggerboards and rudders also allow her draft to be reduced to just 0.90m for beaching or 1.3m when in navigation with the rudder blades down.
The galley is well equipped. Sufficient freezer and fridge capacity is installed for covering long passages and for ensuring proper dining at times when the numbers of guests aboard are high. The watermaker has a capacity of producing freshwater of 150 l/h.
Her chosen build category allows for commercial charter operations should her owner decide.
The contemporary styling of CYGNUS CYGNUS, with clean lines and sleek deckhouse design, allow for panoramic views without compromising on the look of the yacht. The interior layout of Cygnus Cygnus is second to none, with the ingenious use of space to optimise the functionality, while retaining the elegance and spacious feel. Her guest cabins are all ensuite, with queen sized double beds in the aft living quarters.
The clear deck layout creates an open safe space for guests and crew to move about freely while at sea with intuitively placed handrails for added safety.
You are not short of entertaining spaces on board the OE60, from the covered cockpit seating for alfresco dining to the luxurious saloon with beautiful views of your anchorage. Both the on deck and below spaces have been designed with you, your family and friends in mind.
With push-button controls, electric self-tailing winches and self-tacking jib, the OE60 is easily sailed with minimum crew. The twin aft helm positions give excellent visibility and control over this agile catamaran.

“…This one is a charter layout and is laid out accordingly with a five cabin layout. Just look at how beautifully it has been finished and the wow effect of her light open interior. It really is to coin an overused phrase, panoramic vision when you sit down in the saloon… The large galley is a very nice place to stand and work at. The nav station in the alcove besides the mast has excellent forward vision. The teak decks continue inside and there is a proper watertight door to the forward cockpit which is for the halyards and a nice seat for maintaining watch. It’a a cracking boat. A real sailor’s catamaran!...A very nice clean Lorimar rig, spreaderless and unusually for a catamaran of this size, a boom vang...”
