CONSTRUCTION

RCD Status:

• Our understanding is that the vessel is CE certified for category A (unlimited ocean voyages).

Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:

• Hulls and decks are hand laid and then vacuum-bagged to ensure light weight and complete resin infusion.
• The deck is cored with balsa, and areas where deck hardware attaches are reinforced with solid glass Foam core composite hulls - white gel coat
• Solid glass FRP under waterline
• Closed-cell foam core is used above the waterline to minimize weight and provide extra stiffness.
• Solid or felt core composite interior FRP hull & roof liners
• FRP reinforced marine ply bulkheads; tabbed or glued to hull
• Teak laid cockpit sole

Keel & Rudder:

• Twin sacrificial keels infused solid laminate
• Twin hung, foam sandwich fibreglass rudder blades with stainless steel rudder stock
• Epoxy rudder stock tubes.
• Self-aligning upper and lower bearings

MACHINERY

Engine & gearbox:

• 2x Yanmar 4JH57 4-cylinder naturally aspirated diesel engines producing 57hp each
• Yanmar saildrive gearboxes
• Fresh water engine cooling via raw water intake and heat exchangers
• Access to engine compartment from transoms via hatches
• Mechanical single lever gear/throttle controls at helm
• Engine compartments ventilation: Natural aeration and forced extraction in rear section

Engine Maintenance:

• Engine hours approximately 1,740 hours as of March 2023
• Engines last service - winter 2022/23

Propulsion & Steering:

• 3-bladed folding propellers
• The steering system is made up of steering cables (stainless steel cables) and an aluminium quadrant.
